What does it take to rewrite the rules?
For the speakers, attendees, and partners at the TEDxMaitama Annual Conference 2026, it begins with asking better questions, challenging familiar assumptions, and having the courage to imagine new possibilities.
The event, held under the theme Rewriting the Rules, brought together over five hundred attendees in Abuja for a day of thought-provoking conversations and meaningful connections. The audience reflected the diversity of the conversations taking place on stage, bringing together entrepreneurs, technology enthusiasts, business leaders, creatives, and aspiring innovators.
As a Visionary Partner, we were proud to support a platform that encouraged exactly that. At INFINION, we believe that digital transformation is about remodeling traditional systems. This belief is one of the reasons partnering with TEDxMaitama felt like a natural next step.
Throughout the day, Leaders such as Farida Yahya, Fidelis Akpoghiran, Hauwa Suleiman, Ifelade Ayodele, Kevin Arua, Fifehan Osikanlu, Hitesh Upreti, Soji Maurice-Diya, and our CEO, Olufunsho Peters, each brought a unique perspective to the conference.
Throughout the day, it was reinforced that preparing for the future requires the willingness to question old ways of thinking and build systems that are ready for what’s next.
One of the defining moments of the conference was the keynote delivered by Olufunsho Peters. His message looked beyond technology and challenged the audience to examine the invisible assumptions that shape our decisions, ambitions, and organizations.

As he put it, “The world changes twice. First in someone’s imagination. Only later in reality”. It was a reminder that every meaningful transformation begins with the courage to imagine a different future before it becomes reality.
He continued that thought by reminding the audience that innovation is often driven by curiosity rather than certainty. “Sometimes the greatest innovation is not a better answer. It is a better question.” That perspective carried naturally into the panel session, where discussions focused on the infrastructure Africa must begin investing in today to remain globally competitive over the next 25 years.
Speakers also challenged organizations to stop viewing digital transformation as an IT initiative and instead embrace it as a business strategy capable of transforming the way institutions operate, innovate and deliver value.
Drawing from our experience helping organizations across industries embrace digital transformation, Olufunsho highlighted the importance of building resilient digital foundations while preparing businesses to adapt confidently to rapid technological change.
Echoing his keynote, he reminded the audience that “The real opportunity of AI is not smarter machines. It is wiser people.” It was a fitting reflection on the responsibility that comes with innovation and the role people must continue to play in shaping technology for good.
Beyond the conversations on stage, TEDxMaitama 2026 was designed to be an experience. Live music and creative performances brought moments of celebration throughout the day, and thoughtfully curated souvenirs from INFINION served as a lasting reminder of an event dedicated to inspiring bold thinking and lasting impact.

Events like this matter because they create space for ideas to move beyond conversation and into action. They bring together leaders, innovators and future changemakers to challenge convention, share knowledge and inspire solutions to the opportunities and challenges shaping Africa’s future.
As a Visionary Partner, we are proud to have contributed to that conversation. At INFINION, we remain committed to helping organizations rethink what is possible through technology, innovation and digital transformation. Supporting platforms like TEDxMaitama is one of the many ways we continue to support ideas that help shape the future.
